I’ve never had a reading before, what can I expect?

We’ll set up a time to have a video call on Zoom and we’ll take a look at your chart. I’ll ask you some questions about what is going on in your life and we’ll use your chart to figure out answers for you based on the themes that you want to talk about. Most people find readings to be an overall very positive experience, but sometimes a reading may bring up character traits or outcomes that you may not like or sometimes we may discuss emotionally heavy topics. A birth chart reading is a tool to help you grow personally and spiritually so that you are better equipped to deal with the cards that life deals out to you, and this process can be both challenging and rewarding. WHICH READING SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Here are my recommendations:

Natal chart + forecasting: Best for inquiries involving innate characteristics (ex: What are my strengths and weaknesses?) or the past (ex: Why did this terrible thing happen to me as a child?), plus questions around future timelines (ex: Will this year be a good time to change jobs?) or present day events (ex: Why is there so much tension in my marriage right now?)

Focused reading: Best for those with questions around a single specific issue (ex: I want to look at how my career developed and what might be next for me) or immediate problem (ex: I’m having a mental health crisis and want to know how to cope and when things will get better), or for those looking for support for a particular transit (Saturn returns, Pluto ingressing into a new house, retrogrades, etc)

Relationship reading: Best for couples who want to work together on improving their relationship (ex: Are we compatible? When will this rough patch end? How can we understand each other better?) or assessing long term relationship goals (ex: Should we start a business together? Will we be happy if we have children?)

Client Catch-Up: Best for those who don’t necessarily need to look at their chart again, but want to touch base about topics covered in a previous reading or seek guidance on how best to move forward.

I paid for a reading, now what?

You will receive an email within 1-3 business days with the subject “Scheduling your astrology reading”, in which we will ask you for your birth details and the reason you are seeking a reading. We will offer you the earliest available time slot, taking into account your time zone.

We encourage you to say as much as you want about the things you are seeking answers for. Most people write about 3-4 paragraphs, but some have written up to ten pages! The more context you can provide, the more focused your reading will be. If you write it, I will read it.

After we have confirmed your appointment, you will receive a separate email a day or two before your reading containing the Zoom link to join our call, with the subject “Zoom link for your astrology reading”. Please ensure that you have Zoom installed on your device ahead of time.

Is this some kind of psychic reading?

No, I’m not psychic! Astrology is a symbolic language that anyone can learn to interpret. There are specific rules for how to delineate a chart and while sometimes intuition may come into it, there is nothing psychic about it. Astrology is based on the principle “as above, so below” and the planets go through predictable cycles that can give us a window into what is going on down here in the sublunary sphere, aka planet earth!

What topics can we discuss?

People come to an astrology reading for a wide variety of different reasons. The most common topics people tend to ask about relate to career, family, or relationships, but we can talk about most anything that you want to discuss. Many clients also come seeking general guidance with figuring out their purpose or seeking their pathway to spiritual growth, and this is my particular area of specialty. Other clients are dealing with a very specific problem in life and are looking for support in their chart to overcome it. Sometimes people have very dark or sensitive topics to discuss- these are welcome, too. When we schedule your reading, you will be asked you what you have in mind and your reading will be tailored to the topics that are of importance to you.

I don’t want to talk about anything in particular, I’m just curious…

You will get a lot more out of a reading if you come in with a topic that really matters to you. An astrological chart is a very complex thing and can be hard to interpret meaningfully in a vacuum. When you have a specific question in mind, we can reduce some of the static in the chart and hone in on the signal. If you are just looking for general guidance, that’s okay too. I’m always happy to take someone on a tour of their birth chart, though I will probably ask you some questions during the reading so that we can narrow down the topics most relevant to your life currently.

I don’t Know my Birth time…

We need a birth time in order to determine the house placements in your chart, without which it is hard to deeply into your chart.
If you do not know your birth time, consider:

• Asking your parents or another relative who was present. Your birth time may have been recorded in a family bible or scrapbook.

• Contact the local public records office where you were born. Ask for a copy of your LONG FORM birth certificate, which should have your birth time. There may be a small fee. In many jurisdictions, this can be done quickly and easily online. There are also record retrieval services that can obtain your birth certificate for you. Make sure you specifically ask for the long form, as the short form version usually does not have the time recorded.

Failing that, we may be able to attempt a rectification and try to ascertain your birth time. If you know with certainty roughly what period in the day you were born (early morning, around dinner time, just after midnight, some time between 3-4 pm, etc) and we can thus narrow the options down to two or three rising signs, we may be able to determine an approximate time of birth. An approximate birth time will be suitable for most natal chart readings, as I use whole sign houses.

If you have been unable to obtain your birth time and you have enough information with which we can attempt a rectification, please use the contact form. The fee for this will be quoted on a case by case basis, depending on how difficult the rectification process is. Because this can be time consuming and expensive, I strongly recommend exhausting all options to obtain a correct birth time first.

And if we still cannot determine your birth time or you do not wish to go through the hassle of rectification, but you would still like to talk to me about something, you may book a client catch-up, but please contact us before booking and let us know that you are booking this option because you do not have a reliable birth time, as we have different intake questions for this situation.

There are a lot of astrologers out there. Why should I choose you?

The best astrologer for you is one whose work really speaks to you and who you feel intuitively that you will click with. That could be me or someone else. I would encourage you to read through my website before making your choice, and perhaps also checking out my YouTube videos to get a better sense of whether or not you think you would enjoy talking to me. If you are keen to have a reading but don’t feel that I would be the right fit for you, reach out with the contact form and I can recommend some other astrologers for you to check out.

Why do astrology readings cost so much?

Investing in an astrology reading is not just about the time we spend together during the session; it's about the meticulous, in-depth work that goes into understanding your chart. Each session represents several hours of careful preparation as I immerse myself into the nuances of your chart, focusing in on the aspects most pertinent to your present concerns, and outlining upcoming astrological periods that could significantly influence your life's course.

To ensure your reading is thorough and personalised, you are usually my sole astrology client for the day. This exclusivity allows me to dedicate my focus entirely to your chart and your story. In appreciation for returning clients, we extend a discount on all future readings as a gesture of our ongoing commitment to your personal evolution.

We acknowledge that financial situations can vary greatly. If you're facing hardship and cannot meet the cost, please reach out to us. We offer a limited number of sliding scale slots for those in genuine need and we are also happy to recommend other great astrologers with different fee structures who may suit your needs better.

What is your refund policy?

I generally don’t offer refunds after your payment has been processed and your session has been scheduled. I understand things come up, so if you can’t make it to your scheduled time, we will do our best to reschedule you at the earliest available opportunity, provided you give reasonable notice. I will reschedule one missed session, but further missed sessions will require a new booking and payment. No-shows will not be offered a free reschedule, but will need to book and pay for a new session. I will wait 15 minutes past the scheduled start time and reach out to you by email before closing our Zoom session. If you are running late or having technical issues, please email me immediately and let me know so that I can wait for you. And because things sometimes also come up for me, I reserve the right to reschedule your reading if necessary, with as much notice as possible, and will do my best to accommodate you at the earliest possible time.

WHAT IF I HAVE QUESTIONS AFTER MY READING?

An astrological reading can be a lot to take in and process! I provide a recording of the reading to you so that you can listen back and make sure you didn’t miss anything, but sometimes re-listening prompts deeper reflection and can bring up questions that you wish you had thought to ask at the time. I do my best to accommodate follow-up questions, and if you have a brief question that relates to what we talked about, send me an email within 2 weeks of your reading. If you have questions outside of that time frame, feel free to book in a client catch-up to discuss what’s going on for you, or if your questions that pertain to different topics, then I would ask that you book another reading.

WILL YOU READ MY SPOUSE’S CHART?

Only if they are present for the reading. I recommend booking the Relationship Reading. For ethical reasons, I won’t analyse the chart of a person not present in the reading. If your primary concern is relationship issues and your partner is unwilling to attend a joint session, then please book a reading just for yourself and we can consider the issue within the context of your own chart. In the majority of cases, this is still offers a lot of insight into your relationship dynamics.

WILL YOU READ MY CHILD’S CHART?

In most cases, yes. I understand that parents want to do their best for their children and astrology can sometimes help identify ways in which you can be supportive of their journey through life.

If you wish to purchase a reading for your child to speak with me themselves, I usually only recommend this for children 13 and up, as younger children may struggle to understand an astrology reading. For readings with the child present, I typically prefer the parent to be present also, but I understand that sometimes teenagers aren’t comfortable talking about certain things in front of their parents, so I will accommodate solo readings with parental permission.
